Eligibility Criteria for MBA from DU

To pursue MBA from DU, candidates have to satisfy the eligibility criteria. It is vital to know that the prerequisites can vary from one course to another. 

The following are the admission requirements for pursuing various specializations of MBA from DU – 

Full-Time MBA from DFS

Indian Students

  • Minimum schooling of 10+2 from a recognized school. The candidates are also required to study maths or business in their 12th grade.
  • A bachelor’s degree in any discipline from the University of Delhi or any recognized university with at least 50% marks. 
  • All candidates appearing for the final year of a bachelor’s degree exam or awaiting results are eligible to apply. 
  • Admission is based primarily on the CAT (Common Aptitude Test) scores of the latest year.

Foreign Students

There are specific prerequisites that are different for foreign national candidates to pursue an MBA from DU. 

  • Candidates should have the usual qualification of 10+2+3. 
  • The candidates also have to qualify for language proficiency tests like TOEFL or ILETS. 
  • Candidates must appear for any one of the exams – GMAT, CAT, XAT, or  MAT.

Full-Time MBA from DSE

  • The candidate must have a graduate degree in any field with a minimum aggregate of 50%.
  • Applicants from the reserved categories of SC, ST, OBC, & PwD would be eligible for relaxation as per university norms.
  • The candidate must have a valid CAT scorecard of the latest year. 
  • Candidates in the final year are also eligible to apply.

Full-Time MBA from SRCC

Indian National 

  • The candidate must have a graduate degree in any field with a minimum aggregate of 50%.
  • Applicants from the reserved categories of SC, ST, OBC, & PwD would be eligible for relaxation as per university norms.
  • Candidates in the final year are also eligible to apply. In such cases, admission will be provisional until proof of passing the qualifying examination is submitted.

Foreign Nationals

The candidates with valid citizenship cards or passports from another country will belong to the Foreign National Category. It is not required for these candidates to appear for the online test. 

Selection of Foreign National Candidates is based on the following criteria –

Full-Time MBA from FMS 

MBA – Full-Time

  • Candidates should have the usual qualification of 10+2+3 with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA at the graduation level. 
  • Candidates from reserved categories like SC/ST/OBC/PWD/CW must have a minimum 45% or equivalent CGPA during graduation as per university rules. 
  • All candidates appearing for the final year of a bachelor’s degree exam or awaiting results are eligible to apply.

MBA – Executive (Evening)

  • Candidates should have the usual qualification of 10+2+3 with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA at the graduation level. 
  • Candidates should have completed a minimum of 5 years of formal work experience in the government/ commercial sector as an executive or an administrator post completion of a bachelor’s degree. 
  • Candidates should have a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the present employer or the organization should sponsor them.

MBA – Executive Health Care Administration

  • Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in disciplines such as MBBS, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, BDS, Nursing, Genomics, Genetics, Alternative Systems of Medicine, Pharmacology, Anthropology, Paramedical Discipline, Zoology, or an examination recognized as equivalent with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks or equivalent.
  • After graduation, the applicant must have 5 + years of experience (exclusive of internships). The experience shall be determined as of the 1st of April in the year of application.
  • Candidates should have a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the present employer or the organization should sponsor them.

The fees for pursuing MBA from SRCC, Delhi University is Rs 80,000 per semester. This translates to a total course fee of Rs 3, 20,000.  Candidates who apply under the ‘Foreign National’ category must pay an additional USD 250 every semester. Admission to the MBA program is completed through a three – layered procedure – 

  • Candidates meeting the prescribed eligibility criteria

Candidates must submit their CAT score. According to the CAT percentile, short-listed candidates will be invited for Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview, and Extempore.

Selection Criteria for FMS

The FMS evaluation process consist of two steps. The first step is to apply for the Common Admission Test (CAT). After surpassing the CAT cut-off score, the applicant will be invited to participate in the extemporaneous speaking, GD, and PI round. The allocation for FMS admission criterion is shown in the table below.

MBA from DU – Admission Process

Getting admission to any of the Delhi University MBA programs is not easy. However, it gets even tougher because of its affordable MBA program. As a result, candidates must proceed with caution while submitting the application form.

Admission Process – DFS

  1. Fill out the application for DFS.  
  2. Check eligibility for the exam.
  3. Extra weightage will be given to candidates from the courses like B. Com. (Hons.), B. A. (Hons.) (Business Economics), B. A. (Hons.) (Economics), BBE, BFIA/BBA (FIA) and BBS/BMS. 
  4. Applicants will then be shortlisted for Group Discussion/ Personal Interview
  5. The selection criteria for GD/ Interview are based on the weightage of the following requirements:
    1. CAT- 70%
    2. Class 10th – 10%
    3. Class 12- 7.5%
    4. Marks obtained in Maths/ Business Mathematics- 2.5%
    5. Female Candidates receive relaxation of 5%
    6. 5% weightage to the degrees mentioned above
  6. After completing the interview and GD, the final result will declare on the basis of the following weightage:
    1. Marks Obtained in Class 10th- 5%
    2. Marks obtained in Class 12th- 5%
    3. CAT Score – 57.5%
    4. GD Performance – 7.5%
    5. Interview Performance – 5%
    6. Female candidates are granted a 2.5 percent relaxation.
    7. Candidates with the degrees mentioned above- 2.5%
  7. There is no separate weightage for work experience

Admission Process – DSE 

  • Fill out the application form for DSE. Applicants can fill out the form for MBA Executive till the 1st week of January. 
  • The registration fees for MBA are Rs 2000/- for General/CW/OBC and INR 1000/- for SC/ST/EWS/PwBD.
  • Candidate merit, CAT score, and interview results will determine the selection. Here is the weightage for each category:
    • CAT Score – 60%
    • Class X – 7.5%
    • Class XII – 7.5%
    • Group Discussion – 5%
    • Personal Interview – 15%
    • Extempore – 5%

Admission Process – SRCC 

The SRCC GBO admission procedure consists of four steps: completing the SRCC GBO online application, taking the SRCC GBO test, receiving the SRCC GBO result, and participating in the GD/PI round.

More information on these four steps may be found below – 

  • Before taking the test, candidates must complete the SRCC GBO online application 202X. Only the official website will provide access to the application forms.
  • Candidates will be provided the hall ticket a few days before the entrance test, which will be available on the online portal. The SRCC GBO exam will be conducted on March XX, 202X. The online test will include questions on English Comprehension & Language Ability, Logical Ability, Quantitative Ability, and Data Interpretation.
  • The SRCC GBO online test results will be posted on the SRCC GBO’s official website. The scorecard will be available online for candidates.
  • Following the SRCC GBO online test, a merit list will be published, comprising the names of applicants who passed the exam, and will be required to attend the GD-PI for further consideration.
  • Between May XX to May XX, the GD-PI will be held in two sittings. The first sitting will be from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and the second from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The eligible candidates will get GD-PI call letters by April XX.

Admission Process – FMS 

For admission in FMS, aspirants need to follow this procedure:

  • Fill out the application form for FMS. Applicants can fill out the form for MBA Executive till XXth March 202X. 
  •  The registration fee for MBA is INR 1500
  • Candidate merit, CAT score, and interview results will determine the selection. Here is the weightage for each category:
    • CAT 2019 Score – 60% 
    •  Marks obtained in Class X – 5% 
    •  Marks obtained in Class XII – 5%
    •  Group Discussion – 10% 
    •  Extempore – 5% 
    •  Personal Interview – 15% 
  • An additional 3% relaxation is given to female candidates

No, FMS does not run its own scholarship program. The scholarships are supported by both private organizations and the federal government.

Is FMS Delhi a reputed institute for an MBA?

FMS Delhi is an excellent institute for pursuing an MBA from DU.
